Learning Grids

Here is a fantastic set of resources to create 'flow' (or whatever you want to call it) in your lessons. Use the grids to create a grid reference via dice or a method of your choosing. Students then have to locate a second grid reference in order to create a link between the two images. For the literature texts, this requires students to find a quote in order to justify their ideas. Images can be literal as well as metaphoric. There are also grids for the AQA conflict poems, Macbeth and A Christmas Carol (for more able students to compare the two together) amongst others. Other grids include creative writing tasks (select an image and use it within their sentence), selecting a task and many more.

GCSE Literature Revision clocks

Revision lessons feeling tired? Need something to engage your students? Revision clocks are just the ticket. This resource is an entire lesson which simply requires you to tell the students every 6 minutes (I teach 50 minute lessons but I have included additional tasks if teaching an hour or wishing to create homework). The multiple tasks require students to work hard and fast if they are to complete the activities. I have used this with my classes and it has been superb. The resource includes the following topics (each their own lessons): Macbeth, An Inspector Calls, A Christmas Carol and the Power and Conflict section of the AQA anthology. You will not regret using this.
